About Rowing

It's early in the morning and the water is still calm. We are four people who have decided to start the day with a rowing session. We get into a nice rhytm after a short warm-up. Blades go in the water, we kick away with our legs, lift up the blades and then slowly start to prepare ourselves for a new stroke. Our rate is low but our strokes are strong and steady. We constanlty focus on timing. The boat glides smoothly.

We decide to practise a start. We visualize next weeks competition to prepare ourselves to the stressful situation. We imagine that there is only a few seconds to the actual start. Adreanline levels are high but still we are calm. Attention go! We set off in full speed. After fifteen strokes we stop. What went wrong or right is discussed and we try again. After the session we lift up the boat and wash it. We feel refreshed and have lots of energy for the rest of the day.
